ABOUT THIS SERIES
Level 1 Confidence Booster Series of Courses- These are aimed at riders who would like to gain more confidence in some aspects of their riding. It is not just novice riders with their own horse who will get a huge amount out of these courses; more experienced riders who may have a single aspect of their riding (eg. Jumping or hacking) where they feel they would like to be more confident will also benefit. The courses are designed to provide the right level of support and tuition so that the rider goes home brimming with confidence in their new found skills. All the courses at this level are 2 days long and are held at a weekend, with arrival on the Friday evening.
COURSE INFORMATION
This course will suit any rider who would love to have a go at doing a dressage test, even if they dont feel ready (Thats what we are here for)! Even if you have started competing, and want to know how to ride the test better and improve your scores, this course is tailor made to help you achieve more.
For those who have never competed there is bags of advice on how to start, ring craft, turnout etc, as well as what the judge is looking for, and how to make sure your test is polished and professional looking.
COURSE FORMAT
The timetable on this course begins at 8.15 on the Saturday morning with a theory session in the class room, followed by a demonstration of riding a prelim level test, with commentary to clarify what the rider is trying to achieve.
Each rider will then have a private lesson for 45 minutes, some of which will be videoed then shown to the rider in the afternoon session. Preparation will be made for the following day, when, following a morning theory session everyone will get chance to ride a test and have it judged; This is very much intended to be fun as well as helpful, so everyone at whatever level can have a go! Riders can choose from either Intro A (walk and trot) or Prelim 1, depending on what they feel ready for. We will provide a caller, plus video feedback later in the day. There will also be rosettes; - May it be your first of many! (You can opt for an ordinary lesson instead, if you prefer). The course finishes at 5pm on the Sunday evening.
